Grok Bot Guide

What it does

Grok Bot launched in beta on August 11, 2026 from xAI (now SpaceXAI), and is a separate product from the Grok chatbot app. Several named bots work around the clock on a cloud computer assigned to your account. They message each other, hand off tasks in group chats, and divide up responsibilities.

An organizational layer that coordinates several AIs like a team

When more than one AI works at the same time, this role decides who handles what and in what order. It works much like a team lead dividing up work in a human organization.

When it fits

Show a bot how you do a task once and it saves the procedure as a routine it repeats on its own afterward. It fits organizations that want to give each AI a role and run them as a team. It is in beta, open to paid SuperGrok and Cursor plan users first.

When it doesn't fit

The limitations below come from the vendor's own official documentation, not our evaluation. As of 2026-10-18

According to the official docs, every bot on an account shares one cloud computer, along with its files, browser sessions, and logins. The docs state plainly that separate bots should not be used as a security boundary. It is still in beta, and because it relies on Cursor authentication and required cloud storage, Legacy Privacy Mode is not supported.

Compare with

Paperclip and Gas City are worth comparing, since they sit at the same organization layer. Because the bots share one computer while passing work around, check this first if you need permissions split cleanly by role.
