What it does

Aside is an AI-native browser with the agent built directly into it, rather than a bolt-on extension. Credentials go into a separate store called Aside Vault, so the agent can act on already-logged-in sites without exposing the raw value as input. Actions that are hard to undo, like payments or messages, are routed through a human confirmation step by design.

This role has the AI open websites, click buttons, and fill out forms itself, taking over work a person would normally do with a mouse and keyboard.

When it fits

It fits teams on macOS 15 or later who already hold a ChatGPT or Claude subscription and can plug it in right away. It suits teams that want credentials kept from leaking outside the tool while they pilot with a small group first.

When it doesn't fit

The limitations below come from the vendor's own official documentation, not our evaluation. As of 2026-09-22

Aside runs only on macOS 15.0 or later, with no Windows or Linux build. The free tier does not include model access, so you need to bring your own ChatGPT or Claude subscription or an API key, and monthly usage is capped fairly low. Sensitive actions such as payments, posts and messages are not autonomous by design and always stop for human confirmation.

Compare with
