HyperFrames Guide

What it does

HyperFrames is an open source project that turns scene descriptions into code. You describe what you want in plain language, an agent writes the actual HTML and CSS source for that scene, and the tool renders that source straight into a video file. It is not a visual editor: you shape the result by editing code, not by dragging elements on a canvas.

This role has the AI produce visible output directly, like video, design drafts, or 3D scenes. It turns a script or plan a person wrote into an actual screen.

When it fits

It fits development teams with the capacity to install and maintain Node.js 22 and FFmpeg locally. It gets used in workflows where a coding agent is trusted to handle video production on top of writing code. Teams that want to drag and drop elements directly on screen may find this way of working unfamiliar.

When it doesn't fit

The limitations below come from the vendor's own official documentation, not our evaluation. As of 2026-09-22

Local video encoding requires Node.js 22 or newer plus a separately installed copy of FFmpeg, and both have to be present on the machine at all times. Scenes are written as HTML and CSS source files rather than assembled in a visual editor, so anyone who does not work with code will need help getting started.

Compare with

It is often compared with Remotion, another tool in the same creative layer. The split is whether you direct scenes in plain language or build them as React components yourself, and that difference is what should guide the choice for teams producing the same video template at scale.
